CemeCon, one of the global market leaders in tool coating, is setting the course for the future and realigning responsibilities within the Executive Board. In a market environment characterized by high volatility and dynamic changes, the company is sending a clear signal of consistency to customers and partners.

Proven core team with new leadership

Effective May 1, 2026, CEO Dr.-Ing. Oliver Lemmer will step down from the CemeCon Executive Board. As a long-time colleague of company founder Dr.-Ing. Toni Leyendecker, Oliver Lemmer was responsible for the company’s organizational and technological excellence from the very beginning before taking over as CEO in 2022. He is now handing over the position and responsibility for the 350 employees worldwide to his long-time Executive Board colleague Dipl.-Ing. Bernd Hermeler.

Bernd Hermeler has shaped the company over the past decades. For over 35 years, he has worked across all areas of the company and has distinguished himself during this time as a driving force, holding various technical and commercial leadership positions since 2000 and serving as a member of the Executive Board since 2018—initially as CMO and, since 2022, as COO of CemeCon. The comprehensive overview and in-depth knowledge he has acquired in the process will continue to contribute significantly to CemeCon’s success in his new role.

Targeted reinforcement

Christoph Feig will assume the position of COO, succeeding Bernd Hermeler. The graduate engineer in materials science brings many years of experience in technical leadership roles: He previously worked in various technical departments at CemeCon from 2004 to 2010. In the years that followed, he led large maintenance organizations at leading companies in the steel and aluminum industries. With his extensive management and leadership experience, as well as a deep understanding of technical service, Christoph Feig returned to CemeCon in 2024. Since then, he has been specifically prepared for his role as COO through a structured onboarding process.

Reliability and innovation

Dr.-Ing. Beate Hüttermann will remain CMO and thus continue to be responsible for sales, product management, and marketing. Having held various roles within the company since 1987, she has built up CemeCon’s global sales and marketing structure over the years and has been successfully driving it forward as a member of the Executive Board since 2022.

“Especially in dynamic times, personnel stability is also a key to success,” emphasizes outgoing CEO Oliver Lemmer. “With Bernd Hermeler at the helm and other executives who have internalized our DNA over decades, we guarantee our customers and partners a high degree of continuity in terms of reliability, quality, and long-term innovative strength.” Hermeler adds: “CemeCon’s outstanding employees share a clear vision. The company has world-leading technology in Diamond and PVD HiPIMS coating for cutting tools. Building on this strong foundation, we on the Executive Board work every day to lead the way with first-class quality in all key international markets.”
